At Spicers Clovelly Estate, we are committed to providing an inclusive and comfortable environment for all our guests. Accessible rooms
Our accessible rooms are carefully crafted to provide ease of movement and convenience.
We offer two dedicated accessible rooms equipped with the following features to ensure comfort and ease of use for all guests:
- Wider doorways: Facilitates easy movement of wheelchairs and walkers.
- Roll-in showers: Spacious showers with no step entry and grab bars for support.
- Grab bars: Strategically placed along the bathroom walls, around the toilet, and in the shower.
- Lowered sinks: Designed for ease of use from a seated position.
- Lowered bedside tables and benches: Ensures easy reach for all guests.
- Open bathroom layout: Spacious, without a bath, to accommodate different mobility needs.
- While these two rooms are fully accessible, we also offer other rooms with partial accessibility features. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Accessibility in public areas
- Same-level access: Most public areas, including the lobby, restaurant, bar and lounge, are on the same level, ensuring easy movement.
- Ramps: Ramps are available where there are small steps on the property, making all areas, including the dining spaces, accessible.
- Accessible restrooms: Public restrooms are equipped with accessibility features.
- Clearly marked alternative routes: For areas like the property’s bushland walk and the lake view deck (500m from the main property), which are not wheelchair accessible, alternative routes are clearly marked.
FOOD & BEVERAGE OUTLETS
Our dining areas, including the renowned Long Apron restaurant, are designed to be fully accessible:
- Ramps and Wide Spaces: Ramps are available for easy entry, and dining rooms are designed with wide spaces to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
POOL ACCESS
Spicers Clovelly Estate has a beautiful pool for guests to enjoy. However, please note that there is no wheelchair access or hoist facilities available at the pool. Guests who require assistance are encouraged to speak with our staff, who are available to provide support as needed.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
We welcome assistance dogs and ensure that they have the necessary accommodations to stay comfortably with their owners.
Service and culture
We place great emphasis on training our staff in accessibility awareness and inclusive service. Our team members receive ongoing training to ensure they are knowledgeable about accessibility requirements and are ready to assist guests with any special needs or requests. Room tours and specific accessibility training are provided to our restaurant team to ensure they can support all guests effectively.
