Long Table Lunch with Candice Fox
Candice Fox will be joining us for a long table lunch at Rick Stein at Bannisters to talk about her latest book Red Belly Crossing.
The discovery of a familial link to a pair of unsolved homicides in the 1970s led Candice Fox, one of Australia’s top crime writers, down a rabbit hole of darkness and mystery. Candice dives deep into the real-life cases of two Sydney women who were killed in their own homes; one a new mother, one newly married. The novel reimagines aspects of the real cases with the hopes of bringing a real life killer to justice.
Candice Fox is the author of eleven crime novels and the winner of three prestigious Ned Kelly Awards. She has also co-written seven New York Times bestsellers with James Patterson, the world’s bestselling thriller writer. Candice’s novels Crimson Lake and Redemption Point were adapted into a major ABC TV series called Troppo.
$95 includes a two-course meal, complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival and tea or coffee.

Long Table Lunch with Belinda Alexandra
Belinda Alexandra will be joining us to talk about her stunning new book, The Italian Correspondent.
Belinda Alexandra is an international bestselling author of books including The Masterpiece and Tuscan Rose. The Italian Correspondent is a thrilling post-war time mystery set in Rome, 1951. Veronica Gold is in the city as the correspondent for Vogue magazine. As Italy tries to shake off its past and promote itself as the most glamorous nation in Europe, Veronica is trying to forget her time as a war reporter.
But just as she hopes to lose herself in la dolce vita, three men appear in her life: Lyle Cooper, her ex-husband and an American diplomat; Marcello Fabbri, an archaeologist and one-time partisan now working in the ruins of Pompeii; and the dashing Count Carlo Durazzo, husband of Veronica’s estranged friend, the enigmatic heiress Emerald Evergreen.
Complicated feelings arise, but before Veronica can resolve them, one of these three men is murdered. Veronica is quickly drawn into a sphere of spies and a world on the edge of nuclear war, one where nothing and nobody is quite as they seem.

Long Table Lunch with Lisa Wilkinson
Lisa Wilkinson will be joining us to talk about her first historical non-fiction book, The Titanic Story of Evelyn.
The Titanic Story of Evelyn is the never-before-told true tale of the only Australian-born survivor of the sinking of the Titanic; the story of a brave young Australian nurse who wanted to see the world, fell in love, and then almost lost it all in the greatest maritime tragedy the world has ever known. And yet somehow, few Australians know anything of Evelyn’s existence, the courageous role she played in the hours after Titanic was fatally hit by an iceberg, or the heartwarming love story behind it all, that even now, lives on.
Lisa Wilkinson AM is one of Australia’s most well-known and respected media identities. An early ground-breaking publishing career – Lisa was the youngest-ever editor of a national magazine, Dolly, at the age of twenty-one, then spent ten years as editor of the iconic and bestselling Cleo magazine – led to a stunning television success story for one of Australia’s most accomplished journalists. Following over a decade as co-host of the Nine Network’s Today Show, in 2017, Lisa accepted a new challenge by agreeing to join the Ten Network as host of its prime-time award-winning news and current affairs program, The Project.

Long Table Lunch with Inga Simpson
Inga Simpson will be joining us to talk about her upcoming book Once We Were Wildlife – a tender, luminous collection of interconnected tales that explore love, longing and the wilderness – both within and around us.
In this compulsive compilation of eleven stories and one poem – set against scorched landscapes, wild oceans, and rocky terrain – Simpson follows people on the edge of desire, heartbreak and change.
Melancholic and joyful, masterful and inspiring, this is contemporary fiction at its finest by Australia’s foremost writer of the natural world.
