The Buunyal Tour

The Buunyal Tour brings you onto Gundungurra Country for an immersive, Indigenous-guided journey through the Blue Mountains. It’s a unique way to see the region through the oldest living culture on earth.

Over a couple of hours, you explore forest, valley and escarpment — riding the iconic Scenic Railway, Cableway and Skyway, walking a rainforest boardwalk and learning stories of the land and its original custodians.

The Buunyal Tour is an authentic Indigenous experience offered at Scenic World that combines natural wonder with cultural knowledge.


Guided by a Gundungurra custodian, the tour invites small groups (maximum 12 guests) to walk on Country while hearing traditional stories, learning about native plants and animals, and discovering the cultural significance of the landscape.


Over approximately 120–180 minutes, the tour includes access to all major Scenic World attractions — the Scenic Railway, Cableway, Skyway — plus a rainforest boardwalk, offering a deep and connected experience of valley, cliff and forest.

Your Buunyal Tour ticket includes full entry to Scenic World for the day, together with unlimited access to the Scenic Railway, Cableway and Skyway rides.

The tour is led by an experienced Indigenous guide who will share cultural stories, ancestral knowledge and insights into the flora, fauna and Dreaming lore of Gundungurra Country throughout the journey.

You will also walk the rainforest boardwalk as part of the tour — offering a chance to connect with the ancient forest floor, observe native plants and animals, and gain a deeper understanding of the natural and cultural heritage of the Blue Mountains.
